Up From the Ashes
Friday night, Downtown Canon City
We are celebrating rising "Up From The Ashes" of the Royal Gorge fire. There will be live music, drink specials, and a fun night on the town. Music showtimes start at 9:00 pm and go until 12:30 am.

Fremont County Fair
Friday, County Fairgrounds
Friday is Kids' Day & Senior Celebration at the Fremont County Fairgrounds.
In honor of Senior Citizens, those over 65 years can receive a complimentary breakfast of bisquits and gravy on a first come, first served basis starting at 7:30 am and going until 9:00 am.
Kids activities will start at 10:00 am and end with the conclusion of the Watermelon Eating Contest in the Entertainment tent at 2:00 pm. There will be a variety of educational booths, games, and activities for the kids to enjoy.
Colorado Country Music Association will have artists performing on the Entertainment stage starting at 1:00 pm.
Back to School Celebration
Saturday, Office Depot parking lot
Office Depot is celebrating back to school with backpack donations, teacher raffles, student raffles, games, food, and more in their parking lot on Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
There's No Place Like Home
Saturday, Centennial (Duck) Park
Come have fun and support the Habitat for Humanity. Wizard of Oz themed games and activities on Saturday all day.
Events Planned:
- Build Your Own Munchkinland- Participants purchase a small lot to build their own house using only cardboard, duct tape, plastic, and a few other items. Prizes will be awarded. The cost of the lot is $20 (maximum or 4 per team). Building begins at 8am with judging at 5pm
- Ruby Slipper Runway Show- This will be a Wizard of Oz themed fashion show contest where contestants use recycled materials to design their outfits. Prizes will be awarded. This will be for adults and children. Show begins at 6pm.
